HERE Devotional, Day 1
Day 1: Empowered for Mission (Acts 1:8)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Reflection:
Jesus gives His disciples a clear mission before His ascension—be His witnesses. But He promises that this task will not be done in their own strength. The power of the Holy Spirit is essential to living a life of witness, transforming fear into boldness, and equipping us to share His love.
Prayer:
Ask God to fill you afresh with His Holy Spirit today. Pray for boldness to witness where He has placed you—your “Jerusalem” (local), “Judea” (regional), “Samaria” (places outside your comfort zone), and beyond.
Action:
Consider one area in your life where you need the Holy Spirit’s power to witness for Jesus. Pray specifically for that today.
