Messy People: Week 3

Bottom Line: Forgiveness ain’t fair.

Things to Consider
Describe a time you were treated unfairly? How did you feel?
How did you determine that you were treated unfairly?
Does you compare the amount of forgiveness you’ve received to those around you?
Why would Jesus offer up forgiveness “unfairly”?
What might happen if you didn’t judge someone’s mess based on your own?

This week I will….offer forgiveness “unfairly” because Jesus did that for me.

Today’s Scripture Reading

13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius?14Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you.
Matthew 20:1-16
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Luke 23:40-43
